The Levels Explained

Beginners: This is a short block for people with little or no Pilates experience to get a 'taste' of what Pilates is like. It is also aimed at those of you who have done a term of Beginners Pilates and want to refresh the basics before thinking of going into Level 1, or for those of you who have some chronic injuries and need to work gently. (Always discuss these with Bea before booking to discuss suitability).

Level 1 and Level 1 to 2: Tuesday Level 1 is designed for those of you coming up from one or two courses of Beginners Pilates and for those of you already doing Level 1 who want to continue. The Wednesday Level 1 to 2 is for those coming up from Beginners who are happy to work a bit faster and harder and for those of you already doing level 1 or Level 1 to 2. The Wednesday class will be a bit more strenuous than the Tuesday class.

General: The General lunch time class is aimed at those of mixed abilities, from beginners with no injuries to those who have been coming to Pilates for some years. It is a fun, pacy class. (Skye is only available for 3 classes during August.)

Level 2: The Tuesday Level 2 class is aimed at those of you already doing Level 2 or 2 to 3 classes and for those who have done Level 1 for a time and want to challenge themselves a bit more. If you have been doing the Tuesday 5:45-6:45pm class April-July and want more of a challenge, move up to the Wednesday 8 to 9pm class.

Level 3: The Wednesday 8-9pm Level 3 class is designed for those of you already attending the Level 3 class on Wednesdays (5:30-6:30pm) who want to keep things going over the summer and for those of you currently in the Level 2 to 3 classes on Tuesday 5.45pm and Wednesday 8-9pm who want to get a taste of a slightly more challenging class!

Level 3 to 4: This Wednesday class is designed for those of you currently attending the Level 4 class and for those of you currently attending Level 3 on a Wednesday who know you could do a slightly pacier, harder class (which is all of you really!). To keep you hard-core level 4 people happy, there will be more difficult versions of exercises given to you!

Those of you with Pilates experience but new to Bea Alexander Pilates, Please call or email to discuss which level of class would suit you best.

Cost: All Pilates classes are £36 for the 4-week block or £27 for the three Thursday lunchtime classes. There is a £2.00 booking fee per block of classes if you book online using a credit or debit card.

Policies

Making Up Classes: If you need to miss one or more of your four classes during the August block, you can come along to one of the other classes currently on offer to make up. Please come to a class not too out of your normal difficulty range. For example, beginners could make up in Level 1 or even 1 to 2, but not Level 3 or 3 to 4. Make-up spaces cannot be guaranteed. Please just come along to a class and see if there is space available. If the classes are fully booked and no one is away when you come, there might not be a space for you to make up. However this has never happened yet! Your classes cannot be transferred to another person or into a new term.

Refunds: Class bookings are non-refundable.

"Physical fitness is the first requisite of happiness. In order to achieve happiness, it is imperative to gain mastery of your body. If at the age of 30 you are stiff and out of shape, you are old. If at 60 you are supple and strong then you are young."
